What Is Y.O.U.?

Y.O.U. is Doc Murdah's statement record — the one that introduces him to the world on his own terms. The goal is simple: let people understand how he gets down and make it crystal clear that he's coming into the game to stay. Not a moment. Not a trend. A career.

This is his first campaign with Music Promotion USA and Lazyvision Records behind him, and the timing couldn't be better. Doc Murdah has been building for 26 years. Y.O.U. is where it all goes public.

Who Is Doc Murdah?

Doc Murdah was born and raised in Kearns, Utah — a small town most people in the music industry have never heard of. By 14, life had moved him through Oxford, Mississippi, Odessa, Texas, and Hobbs, New Mexico. Every city shaped him. Every environment added a layer to his sound.

He started making music in 1996, inspired by a local artist named Kaotic who showed him what was possible from their city. From there, he studied the greats — Eminem for records sold, 50 Cent for how he entered the game, and Tupac for the depth of his message.

The name Doc Murdah says it all: he doctors the flow and murders the mic. That's not a gimmick — that's a reputation he earned bar by bar.

The Message Behind the Music

Doc Murdah's music is for everyone — but it carries a very specific energy underneath it all. He was bullied in school. And instead of letting that break him, he channeled it into every bar he writes. Y.O.U. carries that same energy: raw, real, and unapologetic.

"Try me now. I'm grown. My lyrics are raw. I can take care of myself. No more bullying me."

How He Makes a Record

Doc Murdah's process is pure. He starts by running cadences in his mind, feeling the beat, letting it speak to him. Then it's pen and paper — no shortcuts, no ghostwriters.

"It's the beat and my pen talking to the paper. It can take one hour or 18 hours — it just depends."

Lazyvision Records sends him the instrumentals. He writes everything out. His wife, Jen Jen, is part of the process too — a real family operation built on trust and love for the craft.

Why Doc Murdah Stands Apart

Utah has talent — Doc Murdah will tell you that himself. But the problem is that too many artists sound the same. The content blends together. Nobody's standing out. Doc Murdah is actually himself, and in a lane full of artists chasing trends, that's the rarest thing you can be.

Who does he sound like? Nobody.

🎤 He's Put in the Work Live Too

📍 Red Hot Bar – Wyoming

📍 420 Utah Event

📍 Crazy Insane Music

📍 Battle of the Bands – Multiple Times

This isn't an artist who only exists in the studio. He's tested his music in front of real crowds and held it down every time.

🎬 What's Coming Next

Y.O.U. is just the beginning. A music video is dropping before July 24, 2026 — so the visual is coming. Doc Murdah has a vault of finished music ready to go, and Lazyvision Records will be rolling it out strategically. He's targeting California and the United Kingdom as his key markets, and his dream collaboration is Eminem. His audience? Anyone aged 20–65 who's tired of music that all sounds the same.
